February 17th

Tuesday, February 17th

This morning, we stopped by my geocache that I placed here last year so that Jim and Barb could find it. The container is a heart shaped tin that I named “I Left My Heart In Fort Myers”. I wrote in the description that we have enjoyed escaping the winter weather at our home in Maryland and while it is nice to return home each spring, we feel like we leave a piece of our hearts in Fort Myers.

Then we went to our local friend, Brian’s house.  Since Jim enjoys woodworking, I thought he would like to see the kayak that Brian built this past winter. The kit was purchased from a store in Annapolis and Jim knew the former owner very well.

Barb liked the mural that Brian’s late wife painted on the side of their house

Brian has placed a very unique geocache in his yard and we encouraged Jim and Barb to find it.

On our way back to the condo, we stopped by the nearby tomato field that we visited several times last year. It is hard to believe that Barb and I were picking tomatoes in the middle of February.

Cordell and Jim said they wanted to watch one of the college basketball games on television, but they didn’t last very long. Even though Barb’s eyes were open, I am not sure how much she was seeing!

We all did enjoy a pretty sunset.
